摘要
翻译测试的构念首先要回答什么是翻译能力,而翻译能力如何定义和分解一直是翻译研究者关注的焦点之一。本文结合现代翻译教学与测试实践,综述国外主要的翻译能力研究模式,着重分析和讨论多元素翻译能力论的内容实质、本身的优势以及东西方研究的差异,探讨多元素翻译能力观作为翻译测试的构念,对翻译教学和测试的意义。
Most translation quality assessment systems are not underpinned by theory at all since they fail to be based on an appropriate model of translation competence or even of learning. In order to improve the construct validity, translation quality assessment must find a set of beliefs about what ingredients go to make up a good translator. After analyzing several significant models, this article argues that PACTE' s multi-component translation competence model can play an effective role in test design, test grading, curriculum design and other issues in translation assessment and teaching. PACTE' s model can serve very well as the test construct for translation assessment.
