Silence and pause are two distinguishing features in Harold Pinter＇s plays.This style does not originate from Pinter,but reaches it pinnacle under Pinter＇s pen.In his works,words do not convey ideas.Instead they become barriers,while silence and pause conceive the real intention of each character.Such a style reveals Pinter＇s penetrating truthfulness and insightful observation.
