摘要
布鲁贝克《高等教育哲学》是西方第一部以高等教育哲学为书名的专著,也是著者对高等教育许多问题进行哲学思考的结晶。研读布氏此著,可以清晰地了解高等教育从自由教育到普通教育、再到专业教育的发展历程,因而可以对高等教育中的普通教育和专业教育的关系有更深入的理解——现代大学既要重视专业教育也要关注普通教育,二者相互补充、互为促进方能真正实现高等教育的目标诉求。
On the Philosophy of Higher Education by John S.Brubacher is the first monograph titled with higher education philosophy in the West,and condenses the author＇s philosophical thinking over higher education.The book clearly shows the developmental process of higher education from liberal education to general education,and to professional education,from which we can acquire a profound understanding of the connection between general education and professional education in higher education.Modern universities should emphasize both kinds of education to achieve their goals.
