摘要
本文以华兹华斯《毁塌的茅舍》一诗为文本焦点,以希尼、爱德华.托马斯和乔.贝特等三人有关"地方"论述中的两个概念"谙熟"、"命名"为理论框架,以玛格丽特与地方的关系和商贩与地方的关系为两个切入点,围绕玛格丽特的悲剧探讨地方与悲情的联系。主要内容包括三部分,可由三个纲领性的问题分别概括:玛格丽特为何陷在悲剧里不能自拔?老商贩为何可以超越悲剧并从中获取智慧,以抚慰和教导他人?他的哲理是什么?
This paper is a close reading ofThe Ruined Cottage.Within the theory frame of 'knowing' and 'naming',the paper discusses the place tragedy in this poem from the perspective of Margaret's and the Pedlar's relation to place.Three questions can outline the whole paper.Why cannot Margaret help being immersed in her tragedy? Why can the Pedlar,by contrast,overcome the desperation of tragedy,and acquire from it wisdom,and manage to help others out? What is his wisdom?
