摘要
上海是近代中国最大的商贸口岸、最有影响的金融中心,自1840年代开始一直是外商银行的汇聚之地。外商银行长期在上海金融市场上占据显赫地位,对中国的经济与金融领域产生了相当恶劣的影响。上海解放后,新政府颁布了有关管理外商银行的一系列相关法规,在新的制度环境下,外商银行在华特权时代一去不返,加上时局的变动,1950年代各家外商银行业务迅速走向衰微,除汇丰、麦加利两家业务寥寥的英商银行外,相继撤离上海。
As the biggest commerce and trade port and most influential financial center of modern China,Shanghai had gathered many foreign banks since 1840s.Foreign banks had occupied a domineering position in Shanghai for a long time,which had considerably bad impacts.By analyzing the laws and regulations issued by new government about governing foreign banks after Shanghai liberation,this paper dissertates foreign banks＇ privilege era was gone forever under the new institutional environment.This paper also verifies the process of foreign banks＇ business declining and deciding to exit from Shanghai in 1950s,and analyzes some concerning cases.
