摘要
"哲学"一词是"日本近代哲学之父"西周由西方的"philosophy"对译而来的,并一直延用至今。从"philosophy"到"哲学"一词的翻译思路以及从西周的实际翻译过程看,音译并不是西周的目的,贴切的意译才是西周真正重视的问题。西周之所以将"philosophy"译为"哲学",是因为他在其翻译中将东方传统儒学作为参照和依据,将"古文辞学"作为翻译思考的方式和手段。因此,从"philosophy"到"哲学"一词的翻译过程实际上就是西周对于东西方哲学进行重新思考与整合的过程。
The word zhexue in Japanese is a translation by Nishi Amane from the western term,and it is in using till now.The article sorts through the thinking and the actual tranlating process of philosophy into zhexue,and points out that translation according to sound is not the purpose of Nishi Amane,and that approriate translation according to maning is what he emphasized.The article also discusses the reasons why Nishi Amane translated philosophy into zhexue,points out that his translation was based on traditional oriental Confucianism as references,and on KoBuniigaku(the studies of ancient language and classic works) as thinking method and means.The article also states that the translation of philosophy into zhexue is actually a process of rethiking and integrating Western and Oriental philosophy by Nishi Amane.
