摘要
车牌定位是车牌识别的关键步骤。为了提高定位的准确率和实时性,提出了一种基于数学形态学的车牌定位算法,通过形态学算子的作用进行车牌区的定位与分割,采用车牌结构特征来进行非车牌区域的剔除。实验表明,该算法速度快、准确率高。
License plate locating is the key step in automatic vehicle license recognition system. A license plate locating algorithm based on mathematic morphology is presented in the paper to improve the accuracy and real-time property of locating. Mathematic morphology operator is used to realise locating and segmentation of vehicle license plates area. A novel technique on the basis of the plate structure features is also adopted to weed out non-plate area. Experiment results demonstrate the good performance in speed and accuracy achieved by this method.
