摘要
沈德潜"温柔敦厚"说继承儒家诗教传统,并加以具体化。"温柔敦厚"说涉及人格、诗歌内容以及诗歌表现方式三个层次:主张人格为先,这是"温柔敦厚"说的前提与基础;在诗歌内容方面要求言之有物,有补于世道人心;在诗歌表现方式上,主张含蓄蕴籍、渊涵婉曲。沈德潜提倡"温柔敦厚"说,是清初以来诗坛重倡诗教、重整儒家诗学传统的必然结果。此种学说之所以招致批判,主要原因在于其存在严重局限。
Shen Deqian's theory of "being gentle and simple" inherited the cultural tradition of Confucian poetics and made it specific and detailed. The theory of "being gentle and simple" involves three poetic levels: personality, content and expression. Firstly, he claims personality should come first, which also is the precondition of this theory. Secondly, poetry should stand for morality in content, and reflects society and reality. Finally, the expression should be implicit, graceful and restrained. This theory is the inevitable result of re-advocating poetic education and cultural tradition of Confucian poetics. However, this theory incurs criticism, mainly due to its limitations.
