摘要
有泰作为1903-1904年间的驻藏大臣,在应对英国侵略西藏地区时,在清延"勿开边衅"的旨意下,一味迎合侵略者,甚至协助侵略者与西藏地方签约。他的所作所为不仅给国家利权造成重大损失,而且成为促使清末民初西藏政局恶化的因素之一。
Youtai was stationed a high commissioner in Tibet by the central government in the Late Qing Dynasty.Facing British invasion of Tibet in 1903-1904,Youtai met the demands of the invaders and helped the invaders with Tibet to sign a treaty of inequality.Consequently Youtai＇s actions seriously undermined China＇s sovereignty and interests.Youtai did not have an international perspective and showed the ignorance of the concept of the foreign affairs.However,Youtai＇ s appointment and promotion were due to nepotism and servility.Youtai＇ s actions was one of the factors which deteriorated political situation in Tibet from Late Qing Dynasty to an earlier period of the Republic of China.
