摘要
禅宗旗帜鲜明地反对言教,但在禅教活动中又不得不使用语言,因此陷入了教义与实践的矛盾。副语言的使用,既保证禅师不说出有固定语义的语言,又向学人传达了佛性不可言传的宗门意旨。同时,副语言呈现了人物的情绪和心理状态,有效地辅助了语言,使得禅宗语录中的人物形象鲜活生动,千载之下,犹如直面。
Zen was opposed to language in theory and had to use language in practice as well.So,the contradiction put Zen in a dilemma.The use of paralanguage in Zen′ practice assured that monks didn′t say something with fixed meaning,while teaching Zen′ theory that truth can′t be expressed by language.At the same time,paralanguage implied feeling and psychological states in communication,which helps to make language in Zen′s collection alive even thousands years later.
