On Pure Conflict Adaptation Effect (CAE) in Flanker Task

摘要 在当前研究中,采用了(前一试次与当前试次之间)不包含任何刺激-反应重复的字母Flanker任务,同时排除了重复启动效应和特征整合效应,从而能够探索该任务下是否存在纯净的冲突适应效应(CAE).实验结果表明在当前实验条件下获得了显著的CAE.这一结果证明了认知系统的调节作用至少是CAE的来源之一,是对冲突监测理论的有力支持.同时,当前的研究设计在实验程序中直接去除了重复启动和特征整合的效应,为探索纯净的CAE提供了新的研究思路. Although the stable conflict adaptation effect(CAE)has been obtained in Stroop and Simon paradigms,there are many intensive debates about whether the CAE in Flanker is stable or not.In the present study,using a 4-value letter Flanker task,and excluding any repetition during the experiment,we tried to explore directly the pure CAE in a typical Flanker task.The results showed that there was a stable CAE in the present design.Because of the use of typical stimuli and the control over the repetition during experiment,the present results suggested that the conflict monitoring is indeed one source of CAE,which provides a most direct and sufficient support to the monitoring hypothesis.
