摘要
丹麦著名语言学家叶斯柏森一生学术著作等身,其研究涉及语音学、普通语言学(含个别语言研究)、语言史、语言哲学、语言习得、心理语言学、国际语、外语教学等诸多领域,其著名的"三品说"曾给中国汉语学界带来深刻影响。叶氏著作大多居于语言学经典名著之列,历来为语言学界广为阅读和引用,魅力经久不衰。开展叶氏理论研究具有学术与现实双重意义。
Otto Jespersen, a renowned Danish linguist extremely prolific in his academic career, made a special study of such areas as phonetics, general linguistics （ including research in specific languages）, language history, language philosophy, language acquisition, psycholinguisties, international language, and foreign language teaching as well. The theory of Ranks, one of his best known theoretical creations, has exerted profound influence on the academic circle of Chinese linguistics. Works by Jespersen, mostly among classic works on linguistics, have been boasting of numerous readers and enjoying frequent citation, which has shown an ever-lasting charm of this great linguist. It is thus of academic and practical significance to carry out research in Jespersen＇s linguistic theory.
