摘要
光明概念与人类生活密切相关,它在构建我们的抽象概念的过程中起着举足轻重的作用。系统地对比分析了光明概念在英汉两种语言中的隐喻投射,发现Deignan对光明概念隐喻投射的归纳不够准确、全面。英汉两种语言中都存在着光明的隐喻投射,表现出一种同异并存的关系。光明概念的隐喻投射范围主要集中在智力、情感、社会关系等概念域上。与英语民族相比,汉民族更充分地利用光这一具体概念来理解并扩展出更多的抽象概念,更强调光给人们带来的益处。
The concept of light is closely related with human life and plays a critical role in the process of constructing our abstract concepts. This paper makes a systematic analysis on the metaphorical mappings of light in English and Chinese. It finds that Deignan＇ s generalizations about the conceptual metaphors of light in English are neither accurate nor complete. Metaphorical mappings of light exist in both En^i~ and Chinese with similarities and differences. The metaphorical scope of light primarily covers the concep- tual domains of intellect, emotion and social relationship. C fuller use of the concrete concept of light in understanding ompared with the English, the Chinese make a and extending abstract concepts. They tend to emphasize the beneficial aspects that light brings to people.
