摘要 简述了阵列波导光栅(AWG)的工作原理,并综述了AWG在光通信中的多种应用。AWG已用于制造多信道光发射机和接收机、调谐分/插光滤波器和分/插复用器等。它们的使用已产生了一种新的技术,即在本地环路中允许使用LED作为低成本多波长光源的频谱分割技术。 The principle of arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) is briefly described, and multiple applications in the optical communication are also summarized. AWG have been used for making multichannel transmitters and receivers, tunable and-drop optical filters, and add/drop multiplexers. Their use has led to a novel tech- nique, called spectral slicing, that permits the use of an LED as a low-cost multiwavelength source for local-loop applications.
