摘要
结构主义认为文学作品在表面上是描写某种外在现象,暗中却遵循一套共同的叙事语法,其基本运作方式是"二元对立"。《屋顶丽人》中"二元对立"的结构表现在下层劳动阶级和有闲阶级的对立、男人和女人之间的对立以及情感憧憬与情感幻灭之间的对立。
According to the structuralism, literary works describe all kinds of things in the world in different ways, but they often employ some similar theories to express ideas. The basic theory is binary opposition. A Woman on a Roof indicates the conflict between British social classes, the antithesis between male and female and the transformatiom from love to hate.
