摘要
味经书院是由民间资本筹建、管理并得到官方认可的一个教学机构,其教学强调经世致用,以"实学"为主,山长亲自为学生讲课。该书院教书与刊书相结合,出版了大量高质量传统经史书籍。味经书院不仅培养了一批既有国学根底又有经世本领的英才,更成为戊戌维新运动时期新思想、新文化的传播基地,这里诞生了严复《天演论》的第一个刊本,推进了西北地区维新运动。
The Weijing Academy is an educational institution with local funding and official recognition.Pragmatism is central in the teaching ideology,and the head of the academy gives lectures.The academy is committed to both teaching and publication,and consequently,new thoughts and cultures grow infulential,including the reform movement of 1898,and the first edition of Evolution and Ethics by Yan Fu.
