摘要
在英美文学文化语境中,古代希腊、罗马神话和《圣经》共同构成最重要的"三源泉",它们对英美文学文化的影响非常深远,不了解希腊罗马神话传说和《圣经》知识,就根本谈不上理解和欣赏英美文学作品和文化现象。鉴于"三源泉"在英美文学文化中的重要地位,构建一个古代希腊、罗马神话和《圣经》故事的语料库是非常必要的,它不仅为英美文学爱好者及英语专业师生提供背景知识和一个学术研究平台,以便更好地解读、欣赏和研究英美文学名家、名作,尤其是进行作家文体风格研究,而且将该语料库用在文学课教学中,对于提高学生的文学、语言修养和审美情趣等都是非常有益的。
In British and American literature and culture context, ancient Greek, Roman myths and the Holy Bible together constitute the most important ＂three sources＂, exerting profound influence on British and American literature and culture. Ignorant of these ＂three sources＂, one can never fully understand and appreciate British and American literary works and some cultural pheno- mena. Considering the significance of these ＂three sources＂ in British and American literature, the corpus construction of ancient Greek, Romanmy^thsandtheHolyBibleisofgreatsignificance, which can be used as a platform for literature scholars and learners to get background knowledge and implement academic study on British and American writers, especially studying writers＇ stylistic features. Moreover, this corpus can be useful in literature teaching and beneficial for students to greatly promote their English awareness and proficiency, literature and aesthetic taste, etc..
