Adopting the method of spraying leaf' surface, the experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of Cu on herbage yield and mineral nutrition of alfalfa. The results showed that spraying Cu could remarkably (P〈0.05) increase the herbage yield of alfalfa. Among the 3 doses, the 200 mgCu/kg was the most effective, the herbage yields markedly increased by 1328.15 kg/hm2 compared with CK; it remarkably (P〈0.05) increased the absorbtion of Cu, P and Zn; the appropriate spraying of Cu could remarkably (P〈0.05) increase the absorbtion of Fe, B, Se, Ca, Mn, Co and Mo and remarkably (P〈0.05) reduce Ca's content, but there was no significant impact on Fe and B's content after spraying Cu; appropriate spraying of Cu could remarkably (P〈0.05) increase Se, P, Cu, Mn and Zn's content, but excessive spraying could remarkably (P〈0.05) reduce Co and Mo's content. Moreover Mn, Ca, Fe, Se, Co, Mo, B's content and absorbing quar ity of alfalfa decreased with the increasing application of Cu fertilizer, Se, P's content and alsoroing quantity increased first and then decreased with the increasing application of Cu fertilier. Cu's content and absorbing quantity of alfalfa increased with the increasing application of Cu fertilizer, Zn's absorbing quantity increased first and then decreased with the increasing appli- cation of Cu fertilizer, and its content increased with the increasing application of Cu fertilizer.
