摘要
本文从历史角度出发，以魏晋时期的市井寺庙与山林寺庙为起点，概述了寺庙园林肇端发展及历史沿革，阐明了汉化佛教——禅宗寺庙建筑的不同类型及相关的文化特色。尤以清代皇家园林为主要探究对象，从清代皇家园林中禅宗寺庙园林环境分布概况、寺庙总体布局及寺庙本身格局的园林环境阐发了皇家寺庙园林的基本特征。并从禅宗及禅文化特有的哲观和价值标准，分析了寺庙园林环境产生的思想基础、佛教禅宗精神与传统园林观之间不期而遇的契合，揭示了清代皇家园林中禅宗寺庙园林环境的设计意象，阐发了其造园目的和创作手法。最后，本文按照由自然到禅化的顺序把禅宗寺庙园林的的审美分为几个层次，并归纳、例举了清代皇家园林中寺庙园林环境的审美境界。
Beginning with the urban and mountain temples of the Wei-Jin period, this paper studies the origin and the evolutionary history of Chinese temple gardens and identifies the types and cultural characteristics of temple architecture in Chinese Buddhism. With Qing dynasty＇s royal gardens as the focus of inquiry, this paper discusses the fundamental features of imperial temple gardens through examining the general layout and the garden environment of the temple architecture. Basing its analysis on the philosophy and value system of Zen Buddhism and Zen culture, the paper demonstrates the coincidence between the spirit of Zen Buddhism and the traditional concepts of Chinese garden design. In doing so, it reveals the spirit imagery of design, as well as the goal and technique of creating the ambience of Zen temple gardens for Qing royal gardens. Finally, the paper classifies the dif-ferent levels of aesthetics of Zen temple gardens in accordance with the order of their evolutionary process from the natural to the Zen paradigms. Examples from Qing Dynasty＇s royal gardens are cited to demonstrate this layered aesthetics.
