Being the essential component of American multiculture, Chicana Literature boasts the distinctive inhomogeneity. Peel My Love like an Onion by Ana Castillo who is regarded as one of the outstanding Chicana writers, depicts a Mexican-American female’s life experience filled with turns and twists. The epic of struggle reflects the unremitting efforts Mexican-American females have been making to look for the self-identification and the cultural-recognition. The Myth-archetype analysis is applied to interprete the transmutation of Malinche, the evil –female image in Hispanic history and legend, to explore the deep meaning of the novel.
