This paper analyses two shifts of the relationship between man and game in modern philosophy. The first shift refers to Kant and Schiller who hold that the game is dominated by human reason. The second shift re- fers to Nietzsche, Heidegger, Gadamer and other philosophers who claim that the game is not dominated by logos of man. From two shifts of the relationship between man and game, we have more profound understanding and reflection to the being of man and the essence of game.
