The optimum technology conditions of preparation of the high density spherical Ni(OH)2 particles used as active material are reported. The size of the porous particles and crystal grain can be controlled by adjusting the micro crystal growth in order to get a tap density in 16 to 26 g/mL. Addition of a proper dopant could make the utilization ratio of Ni(OH)2 close to 100% in the pasted nickel positive electrode.
