摘要
针对矢量量化和标量量化各有优劣的现状,一种简单、有效的新型量化方法被提出来了。本文把它应用于基于小波变换的指纹压缩,改进了FBI的WSQ算法〔1〕,大大降低了量化计算复杂度。既获得较高的压缩比,又有较好的主客观质量,并与JPEG标准进行了对比。
Each of Vector Quantization and Scalar Quantization has its strong and weak points. This paper presented a new、 fast、 and efficient quantization method. It was applied to compression of gray-scale fingerprint images, improved the WSQ algorithm, which was proposed by FBI. This method reduced computer complexity greatly, and got good subjective and objective quality.
