摘要
数字习语因为其简明扼要、生动形象等特点,在英语和汉语中均占据一席之地。通过大量实例,分析归纳了英语和汉语数字习语的句法功能。并在此基础上,阐述了英汉数字习语互译的几种策略:字面译法、字面加注译法、借用法、归化译法以及释义译法。
Numerical idiom is an important part of the English and Chinese language because of its concise form and vividness. This paper makes a deep probe into the syntactical functions of Engtish and Chinese numerical idioms based upon convincing exampies. Then, five strategies are proposed for rendering numerical idioms between English and Chinese, i.e., literal translation, literal translation plus paraphrase, borrowing, numerical adaptation and expatiation translation.
