摘要
本文试图依据对《西游记》余译本的研读并结合余国藩本人对翻译理论的阐释,概括出余国藩翻译思想的几个要点。研究发现,他是个坚定的可译论者,并且其可译论思想直接转化为异化和全译的翻译策略,异化策略是深层次上对可译性的捍卫和证明,翻译过程中译、研、评相结合也赋予其译作深厚的学术价值。
On the bases of Anthony C. Yu＇s translation of the Journey to the West and his publications on translation theories, this thesis tries to summarize the main points of his ideas on translation studies. It is found that he firmly insists on translatability, which leads to his advocacy of foreignization as a deeper way to defend and prove translatability as well as the full translation. The combination of translating, researching and commenting endows his translations with considerable academic values.
