On the Universality and Generation Mechanism of Structural Metaphor

摘要 结构隐喻不仅是传统意义上的一种修辞格,更是人类理解周围世界和认知新事物的一种思维和认知方式,被人们广泛运用于生活中的各个层面。关于它的产生机制,学术界有着不同的看法。文章在综合分析各种学说的合理性与不足的基础上提出,结构隐喻的产生既有其客观因素,又有其主观条件;但主观条件除了身体经验以外,更有人类思维的规律或经济性原则在发生作用。 Structural metaphor is not only a traditional figure of speech but also a way that people think and understand the new things around them, which is widely used in their life. As for its generation mechanism, there are many different theories among the linguistic scholars. After analyzing the rationality and inappropriateness of these different theories this thesis puts forward that both objective and subjective conditions contribute to the forming of structural metaphor and that the subjective condition includes not only the body experience of human beings but also the economical principles or rules of human thinking.
