摘要
简要回顾了国内通识教育的实施过程,探讨了其对英语专业实施通识教育的借鉴意义,结合武汉工程大学外语学院英语专业人才培养模式改革的经验,作者认为"英语+专业"的模式既符合通识教育的理念,也有助于复合型实用人才的培养,是一种基于通识教育的专业教育模式。
On the basis of introducing the evolution of general education and specialty education, the paper explores their main theories and correlations. It then briefly reviews the implementation of general education in China and discusses its implications for English language learning and teaching. With the experiences fro the ＂English Plus （ E ＋ ） ＂ Integrated Dual-degree Program carried out in Wuhan Institute of Technology, It is argued that the ＂English Plus （ E ＋ ） ＂ model conforms to the conceptions of general education and contributes to the training of practically interdisciplinary talents. It is a combination of general education and specialty education.
