摘要
分析了中西方表达感谢的不同的方式及其受话人的反应,并从语用学"礼貌原则"的角度对其进行了探讨。还探究了这种文化差异的历史渊源:个体本位主义与集体主义,以及权力距离等。这种差异可以视为阐释中西方不同的感谢表达方式的语用理据。
This paper, starting from the analysis of different expressions of gratitude and their responses, intends to probe into the historical origins of cross-cultural differences： two dimensions of cultural variability, ie. individualism-collectivism and power distance, which give the pragmatic account of why the Chinese differ mucb from the Americans in expressing gratitude.
