摘要
颜色词属极其活跃的词汇,人类对颜色的感知有一定的共性。然由于英汉在民族心理、历史传统、宗教信仰、生活习惯等存在较大差异,英汉两种语言颜色隐喻便颇有迥异之处。文章从隐喻认知的角度分析两种语言中基本颜色词,进一步对中西文化有更深入的理解。
Color terms are very active in language. We human beings have a common cognition on color terms, however, as there are so many differences in national psychology, historical tradition, religious beliefs, and customs between the British people and we Chinese, the metaphors of color terms are poles apart in some respects in English and Chinese. Focusing on metaphor, this paper analysesthe basic color terms of the two lan- guages through cognitive approach in order to understand the culture of the West and the East better.
