摘要
习语是语言的精髓,有着独特的文化背景。本文通过对比分析汉英习语中的国俗语义的异同现象,显示了中英文化共同和独特的特征以及彼此间的交流和融合。这对我们探索社会文化对语言的影响,对英语学习与研究都是有一定帮助的。
Idioms are the essence of a language, and reflect the fruits of people＇ s living and working experience with their own characteristic cultural background . This paper compares and analyzes the similarities and differences of folk custom meanings between Chinese and English idioms, and exhibits the common and unique characteristics of both English and Chinese as well as the communication and blending of the two cultures. This can have influence on our probing into the relationship between social culture and language, and also give certain help to English learning and study.
