摘要
高等学校培养人才、发展科学、直接服务社会的三大传统职能的产生发展经历了漫长的过程。在新的社会历史环境下,高等学校"第四职能"的研究引起了人们的兴趣。在激烈的讨论中形成了改造社会说、文化交流(交往)说、创造新职业说、国际合作(国际化)说、技术创新说、社会良知说、社会阶层再生产说七种主要的观点。高等学校"第四职能"的讨论应首先确立一套评价标准,第四职能不应是对三大传统职能简单的拓展或细化,而应是与其同位的关系。高等学校"第四职能"应具有新时代的特征,多样化将成为其发展的趋势。
The three traditional functions of colleges and universities, producing qualified talents, developing science and serving society, have undergone a long process of development. Under the new social and historical circumstances, the research on colleges and universities' "fourth function" has aroused great interest among all walks of life. Around this function five perspectives have so far been formed in the heated discussion. They are transformation of society, cultural ex technological innovation. The author maintains changes, creation of new jobs, international cooperation, and that a criteria for evaluation should first be established in the discussion over "the fourth function", that this new function should not only be the extension or the specification of the three functions and, instead, it should have a parallel relationship with the three, and that it should have the characteristics of this new ear and diversity be its goal in its development.
