商标英译是一种跨文化的交际活动。翻译时既要考虑译入语消费者的文化背景和审美情趣,又要尽可能地保持原语的意旨。在分析中英文化差异的基础上,根据不同情况,采用意译、音译或音意合译等方法。
Chinese -English trademark translation is a kind of intercultural communicative activity. During translation, not only the cultural background and esthetic appeal of target - language readers should be considered, but the connotati on f the source text should be kept. In the analysis of the differences between Chinese and English cultures, free translation, transliteration or both can be employed accordingly.
