It has been shown that numerous natural and synthetic chemicals with estrogenic activities have reproductive or developmental toxicity in humans or animals by epidemiological investigations and animal experiments. The mechanisms of toxicity that could result in male reproductive system maldevelopment, however, are very complicated, especially in the exact pathways. This article introduced the current progress on the potential pathways of environmental estrogens (exoestrogens, xenoestrogens) interfered with the testicular development, testicle hormone production and their metabolism.
