摘要
对101份回收的调查表进行分析,以发现调查对象感兴趣的疾病信息,是否愿意学习如何使用互联网络查找高品质的健康信息资源以及其在获取医疗健康信息中遇到的主要困难等。指出信息工作者应根据北美华人语言和文化的特点推荐权威性、可靠性、针对性强的、高质量的健康信息资源并介绍网络健康信息质量评估方法,以提高对华人的医疗健康信息服务质量。
A survey of the Chinese population in the Dallas-Fort Worth area related to health information needs and lnternet use was conducted. One hundred and one Chinese individuals participated in the survey. Results indicated that this Chinese population＇s major health topics of interest were breast cancer, diabetes, and hepatitis, and the population had a strong desire to find quality health information on the Internet. Language barriers and a lack of knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system were reported as major reasons for the difficulties in searching for health information. Based on the findings, major issues that need be taken into consideration when delivering services to the Chinese population are： （1） language and cultural differences and （2） training on selecting quality health information.
