从介绍风景园林行业伟大的先锋弗雷德里克·劳·奥姆斯特德出发,阐述了加拿大风景园林行业发展各个时期的特点,如城市挑战、大萧条时期、现代主义开始、城市复兴、新思潮出现等,分析了各阶段杰出风景园林师的作品、风格及影响,展示了20世纪加拿大风景园林行业的现代化历程。
Beginning with the early contribution of Frederick Law Olmsted, the ＂great precursor＂ of landscape architecture, this paper explores the characteristics of different periods of the landscape architectural profession in Canada, including the urban challenge, achievements during the Great Depression, the beginning of Modernism, a subsequent ＂Urban Renaissance＂ and the recent emergence of New Trends. It also analyzes the works, styles and influences of prominent landscape architects during these periods to showcase the evolution and modernization of 20th century landscape architecture in Canada.
