摘要 基于变换域编码中应用最广的是离散余弦变换(DCT)和小波变换(DWT).小波的迅速发展给传统DCT提出了严峻考验.DCT算法有新发展:内嵌法、策略性重组的引进使其具有类似小波的特性,如ESDCT在对某些图像压缩还优于小波的SPIHT,故DCT的优良特性使其在图像压缩中仍然有广阔的应用前景.实际上,变换域压缩的主要因素在于量化器与熵编码器,DCT与DWT各有优势,在应用中可根据不同需要进行合理的选择. Coding based on transform domain is widely used in image compressing. But the rapid development of wavelet gives a stern test to traditional DCT. The DCT algorithm also has new advances: after reorganizing coefficients or embedding, DCT' s property is similar to wavelet' s. With its own fine characteristics DCT still hold broad application prospects in the image compression. In fact, primary factor for the transform domain compression lies in the quantizer and the entropy encoder. DCT and DWT have their own advantages respectively. In the application we can carry on reasonable choice could be made according to different need.
