摘要
翻译目的论认为,翻译是一种有目的的活动,因此具体的目的决定相应的翻译策略。在我国,当今英汉翻译被赋予了两个任务,除了实现双语交际的目的之外,丰富现代标准汉语也成为翻译活动的一个重要目的。欧化是现代标准汉语必不可少的组成部分,也是它区别于其他时期的汉语的独特之处。而语言的欧化应当归因于近现代翻译。因此,在当今全球化的大背景之下,为了进一步丰富现代标准汉语,译者应当在英汉翻译中采取异化策略。
According to the purpose translation theory, translation is a kind of purposeful activity. Hence the corresponding translation strategy is determined by the specific aims. In China nowadays, English-Chinese translation has been assigned two assignments. Besides the major aim of realizing bilingual communication, enriching the modern Standard Chinese（MSC） has also become an important purpose of the translation activity. It can be concluded that Westernization is an inseparable part and a unique feature of the MSC. The phenomenon of linguistic Westernization attributes to modern translation. Consequently, foreignizing translation strategy should be chosen in English-Chinese translation in order to enrich the MSC in the context of globalization.
