日本STS研究的文化审视

A Cultural Perspective on STS Study in Japan

摘要 对日本而言,STS是外生型学科。早在传入日本之前,日本社会中就已经存在着与STS研究相关的文化因素,为STS研究在日本的传播与发展奠定了基础。从历史文化视角探析STS研究在日本传播的文化背景,不难看出:日本历史上注重吸收外来科技的文化传统成为STS研究传播的文化基础,而20世纪初对科学技术的理论研究为STS研究的传播作了理论准备;二战后,理科教育重心的调整由偏重"技术"教育向重视"科学"教育的转变则是STS研究传播的内在驱动力。同时,20世纪60年代后,日本举国上下对环境教育的重视,从现实角度对STS研究的传播提出了要求。 STS is an exotic subject in Japan. There were cultural factors relevant to STS study in Japan long before it was introduced in the country, by which the STS study spread and developed. Exploring the cultural background of STS study in Japan in a historical and cultural perspective, it is revealed that Japanese cultural tradition always made much of absorbing foreign science and technology, which laid a cultural foundation for spreading STS study. Furthermore, the theoretic research on science and technology at the beginning of 20th century provided a theoretic preparation for STS study. After the World War Ⅱ , Japan's shift in emphasizing science education from technology education offered a intrinsic drive to spread STS study. And after 1960s the nation-wide efforts to make much of environment education demanded actually the propagation of STS study.
