The effect of cerium oxide on the microstructure and wear,friction and corrosion properties of laser cladding NiCrBSi alloy coating on steel 40Cr has been studied. The results show that the comprehensive interaction effects of dendritic crystal finery,antifriction and wear resisance have been taken place by means of adding 8 mass percent of CeO 2 to laser cladding NiCrBSi alloy coating. The interaction mechanism of CeO 2 in laser cladding coating is also discussed.
