摘要
方兴未艾的涉外旅游业已经进入电子商务时代,需要大量既懂旅游英语,又熟悉现代电子营销手段的综合型人才。结合目前国内几个典型案例,分析了电子商务在涉外旅游业的最新运用和发展。以这一新形势为背景,反思了传统的旅游英语专业在课程设置上的局限性:即仅仅注重对学生英语交际能力,旅游专业知识和职业技能等方面的培养。由于认识和软硬件方面的局限,与网络技术和电子商务相关的课程缺失严重,影响了学生就业和进一步发展。在电子商务不断渗透涉外旅游业各个层面的今天,旧的课程设置已明显不适应新形势的要求,亟待改革;最后探讨了改革的方向与目标。
In the age of e-commerce, the booming international tourism demands a large number of talents with both good command of English and further acquaintance with modern e-business expertise. In some case study, this essay addresses the latest utilization and development of e-commerce in the industry. Against this backdrop, the limitations of the old Tourism English curriculum is examined, which is only centralized upon the practical communication through English, tourism theory, tourist services, and relevant skills among others. Due to lack of hardware and software, the old curriculum attaches very little, if there is any, importance to the latest Internet technology and e-commerce,which cuts the edge of the relevant graduates in the job market. It is therefore in the urgent need of reform and enrichment. Finally, the essay provides some possible reform destinations and suggestions.
