摘要
通过对《红楼梦》英译本中委婉语的分析,初步探讨了委婉语翻译的常见手法——直译字面意思、译成汉语委婉语、直译后另加注释、译成英语委婉语和省略忽视等。
By analyzing euphemisms in the translated English version of Hong Lou Meng（A Dream of Red Mansions）,this paper discusses the techniques which are most commonly used in euphemism translation, namely, literary translation, translating into Chinese euphemism, literary translation with note, translating into English euphemisms, and ignoring some parts of euphemism when translating.
