摘要
本文重点阐释了索绪尔语言符号任意性理论涉及的几个重要概念范畴,旨在说明:语言符号理论框架是建立在纯粹的共时语言系统基础上的;能指和所指间关系是任意的,而非词物照应关系;语言符号的价值不是由其本身决定,而是由它与系统成员的关系决定的。这是理解索绪尔语言符号任意性理论的关键所在。
This paper mainly elaborates on several important concepts concerning Saussurean arbitrariness of linguistic signs and proposes that the key to the understanding of the theory lies in the following aspects： the framework of linguistic sign theory is based on a pure synchronic language system; the relationship between the signifier and the signified is arbitrary instead of being a correlative relationship between a word and an object; the value of a linguistic sign is not determined by itself but by its relation with other members of the same system.
