摘要
《一千英亩》中所塑造的人物吉妮是一个生活在父权制家庭的农妇。通过对吉妮的自我意识发展过程的分析,揭示出作者所塑造的吉妮,其内在的深刻意义是:保守懦弱的观念正是女性内在的敌人,女性的独立已不仅仅是人身上、经济上的独立,更重要的是心理上的独立。
The essay analyzes “A Thousand Acres” （ written by Jane Smiley ） from a feminist approach. Ginny, the heroine of the story, lives in a typical patriarchal family. After she is embittered by numerous frustrations, her self- consciousness wakes up gradually. By analyzing the course of awakening of her self- consciousness, the author points out the significance of the characterization of Ginny that conservative and cowardly ideas are the inner enemy of women. A woman should have personal, economic, and most important of all, mental independence.
