Forty patients was treated with the method of transurethral microwave irradiation and resection of prostate. A radioactive probe was introduced to the prostatic urethra and mi- crowave irradiation was applied to the prostate for 30 seconds with an output intensity of 100 - 140W from a 2450MHz microwave device . TURP was then immediately carried out. The results was satisfactory. Blood lossduring operation and complication after operation were reduced . The procedure is simple , safe and make TURP easy.
