摘要
笔者最近阅读了陈丹青教授致清华大学领导的一封信[1],信中所言大多是对目前中国高等教育弊病的批评和对艺术领域研究生教育的看法.
Chinese universities began to recruit a large number of graduate students after the establishment of the graduate degree systems since 1980's.Some of the critical issues in higher education systems are to be further addressed including the basic concepts of academic research,purpose of university education,and definition of graduate degrees.This article is intended to answer some of the key questions on the definition of Ph.D.degree,raised in the letter by Professor Chen Dan Qing to Tsinghua University.It is to be noted that the fundamental concepts and definitions of graduate degree systems are based on the models of American and European universities.
