The results of study on the morphology and ultrastructure of kenaf fibers indicate that kenaf is a kind of favorite new materials for paper industry.The fibers of kenaf bast are more slender than softwood fibers,it can be used for the substitution of softwood pulp and also for some speciality paper grades.Although the length of xylem fibers is rather short,it can be used as an reinforcement material when it is blended with some thick wall fibers in the furnish due to its very thin cell wall property.However,axial fibrillation of bast fiber in beatig may be diffcult because of the larger orientation angle of the microfibrils.
