摘要
通过对美国戏剧大师尤金·奥尼尔代表作品《毛猿》的现代主义艺术特征的分析,揭示了人物的内心世界,剖析主人公扬克悲惨命运的社会根源。认为在西方高度发达的工业社会里,孤独和绝望是人不可改变的宿命。
The article analyses the modernism characteristics of The Hairy Ape by O＇ Neil, a famous American playwright, throws light on the character＇ s inner world, finds out the social origin of Yank＇ tragedy, and tells us that the modem man is doomed to suffer loneliness and desperation in the highly industrial world.
