摘要
奎因的翻译不确定性理论中一个重要的内容是关于意义的判定问题。意义的不确定性必将导致翻译的不确定性。但这并不能说明翻译是不可为的,不能成为不可译性的理论基础。这一理论的真正意义在于它为我们从哲学角度研究翻译的本质提供了思路和方法。
Meaning deciding is one of the major contents in Quine＇ s theory of the indeterminacy of translation. The indeterminability of meaning must cause the indeterminacy of translation. But it cannot prove that translation is a thing that cannot be done and cannot be used as the theoretical basis of intranslatability. Its main contribution lies in that it provides some thinking and methods for the research of translation＇ s nature from the philosophical point of view.
