摘要
在长久的士议不振之后,光绪朝清流勃勃然而起,以凌厉矫激为清代的言路造出了最后一派声光和尊严。然而清流尊王攘夷,其本色和特色都在于不重利害只论是非。前一面所体现的是儒学的固性,后一面所体现的是儒学的刚性。在一个以利害造世变的时代里,固性会演化为不识新知的否塞,刚性则以其守护价值而成为当日的社会良心。但否塞和良心都不能敌利害,于是清流不得不趋于式微。而后由清流一脉分蘖出来的名士立起于庙堂之外,以士议鼓荡促成了晚清最后十年的剧烈变迁。时人谓之“世局原随士议迁,眼前推倒三千年”。
After long-time silence, Qing Liu sprang up and its fierce opinions earned respect for Qing Dynasty. But Qing Liu didn’t lay emphasis on the harm and only discussed the right or wrong opinions. These two aspects separately displayed the stubbornness and rigidity of Confucianism. But unfortunately Qing Liu couldn’t acclimate itself with the society at that time and therefore began to decline. Finally some personages from Qing Liu caused the great change of late Qing Dynasty in the last ten years.
