中俄伊犁谈判时期,张之洞的改约态度,经历了弃伊犁以废崇约、诛崇厚而认崇约、收回伊犁全境及界商并重四次重要变化,其目标是以清王朝的利益为权衡,国家主权意识其时并不占主导乃至主要地位。
Zhang Zhidong changes his attitude four times towards how to settle the Yili question between China and Russia: give up Yili in order to abrogate the treaty signed by Cong Hou,kill Chong Hou but admit the treaty, take back Yili completely, and attach equal importance to both demarcation and commercial relations questions. His main aim is to safeguard the Qing dynasty's interests rather than the state sovereignty.
